LINDU
LINDU depicts the mythology and traditions related to death in the Karelian tradition. The story follows the preparation for a burial in a Soviet Karelian village around the 1960s, where traditions are still present and passed on especially through the rituals performed by the mother. In the film, a man returns to his home, to his own funeral, and gets a so called "soul bird" to guide him. Lindu premiered in autumn 2021 at the Karjalaiset Pajot festival and at the Maunula Culture Centre in Helsinki, in cooperation with the city of Helsinki.
Lindu has actively toured around Finland at festivals, events and cinemas, and it has been performed in e.g. at Sugri Fest festival, Outsider Art Festival under Helsinki Festival and at numerous other festivals, events and cinemas around Finland. In addition Lindu has also been shown at events in France and Japan.
The next public performance event will be at Tampere Flute Fest in Tampere on April 15 and 16, 2023.
